Fixing Soffit Boards

1. Flat soffit board can be fixed directly to the noggins or battens with 40mm Plastic top pins. fig 2.1
2. For a superier neat finish use a F-Trim (Soffit to wall trim) to hold the soffit board to the wall, this will also give a neat finish to your project.
3. If cladding profile or hollow Soffit board is used, they can be used in short lengths from wall to the underside of the Fascia board, providing a easy to handle installation.
4. At the gable end there are two main choices;
   (a) The soffit board continues all the way until it reaches the gable end. fig 2.2 or
   (b) The soffit board terminates at an angle of 45 degrees to the corner of the wall and a H-trim is used to integrate with the soffit board forming the base of the gable box. fig 2.3

Ventilation Ventilation can be achevied by using Pre-Ventilated soffit boards or there are ventilation accesories available to allow this. Circular Disk Vents, Vented strips or Over Fascia ventilation. fig 2.1 above shows the typical pre-ventilated soffit board. fig 3 shows the typical ventilation for the hollow soffit or flat soffit boards.
